Happy New Year!  Hard to believe 2008 is drawing to a close.  I am looking forward to the New Year and wish all my blogging friends the best of everything in the year to come.
With Valentine's Day just around the corner, I couldn't resist trying the yummy colors of CTD23 for my Valentine cupcake -- pink pirouette, chocolate chip, riding hood red with kiwi kiss or old olive. Although these colors were posted for Christmas, I think they work well for this little Valentine, too. After all, who can resist a chocolate cupcake with pink frosting? Yum!

CPS 95 Vintage Santa

Every Sunday, there is a new sketch posted on CPS.  This is my take on this week's sketch, CPS 95.  You can find the sketch here.  For the circular panel I used the spotlighting technique and for the wavy lines I used a flourish punch by EK Success.
Besides the sketch, there are amazing cards posted by the designers.  Wonderful inspiration. Give yourself a treat and stop by for a visit.
My DH and I are going to Colonial Williamsburg for a few days to see the decorations and enjoy some holiday fun, so this will probably be my last post before Christmas.  Enjoy your week.  I'll see you when I get back.  Happy Holidays!

Box with Money Holder

I wanted to share the money/gift card holder I made to fit in a 12" X 6" triangle box.  It is very simple to make:
  1. Cut a piece of cardstock 2.5 inches wide by 7 inches in length.
  2. Score lengthwise at 3.5 inches.
  3. Tie a piece of cord around the middle of the card front.  (This will hold the cash, a check or gift card in place inside the card.)
  4. Have fun decorating the card front and adding a sentiment or hand written note inside. Finished.
Now what could be easier?

Challenge #7 Tags

There is another fun challenge from House Mouse and Friends Challenge Blog. The theme this week is to use tags. I used my SU! tag punch to create my tag and stamped the background with mousy feet and added the punchy words sentiment from Gina K. Designs. Wish my photo was better! I attached fuzzy black and turquoise yarn to my tag; unfortunately, the photo makes it look like a black blob. Although it doesn't show in the photograph, the card sparkles nicely from the clear stardust pen added to the base of the image as well as the popcorn. Ever have one of those frustrating photography moments? Supplies: Stamps - Stampabilities Mousy Feet and Poppin Good Birthday, Gina K. The inspiration for this card came from Beate's inspiration challenge found here. I took my inspiration from the leaf pattern and color of one of the glasses. The card's base has an acetate overlay and the leaves are covered with glossy accents to give the impression of glass. My image was stamped in antique sepia and then overstamped with kiwi kiss to give the image some depth. To continue the "glass look", I added clear dew drops backed with chocolate chip circles. Thanks Beate for the inspiration that made this card possible! Supplies: Stamp - Stampington & Co.: scripted leaf; Paper - SU! chocolate chip, PTI white, generic white card base; Accessories - Judi Kins transparent acetate, Range glossy accents, clear dew drops, zots, small circle punch, Mike's ribbon, prima and chocolate chip Flower Fusion blossom.

Roxie's Sketch

This is my try at today's SCS sketch challenge. You can find the link to Roxie's sketch here. I kept things pretty simple.
